New Year Resolution? Use the Law of Attraction to Make it Work this Year!

new yearEvery year millions of us make New Year’s Resolutions.  We say we are going to lose weight this year, quit smoking, work harder and get a raise, or start exercising more.  The list of resolutions goes on and on.  Unfortunately, for most of us, by the end of January or February we have already given up on those promises we made to ourselves.  It doesn’t have to be that way!  We can use the law of attraction to help us actually stick to those resolutions and make the changes in our lives that we need and want. 

A resolution is simply a statement that tells the world and ourselves how we would like our lives to be.  It is a statement that says I don’t like this part of my life and want to change it.  It is a promise we make to ourselves.   When we make these promises we mean them.  We really want to make these changes to our lives.  We believe we have the power to make these changes and we build up the excitement needed.  However, after a short time we sabotage ourselves.  We start saying things in our minds like “this is too hard”  or “I can’t do this” and we end up believing these negative statements. 

What we may not realize is that those negative thoughts are exactly why we don’t keep our resolutions.  We believe we can’t and therefore we don’t.  The law of attraction is at work.  We receive that which we feel and believe.  Good or bad, positive or negative, it makes no difference, if you ask for it, focus on it and believe it, it becomes reality.  The law of attraction does not decipher your thoughts, it does not make choices for you, and it does not determine whether what you believe and focus on is good or bad for you.  It simply brings into your life that which you seek. 

You can use the law of attraction to make sure you keep your resolutions just as easily as you have been using it to break them!  Just change the way you are thinking about them.  Instead of saying “this is too hard” or “I can’t do this” start saying “I am doing this”.  Start thinking positively.  You need to truly feel the way fulfilling this resolution would make you feel.  Start feeling this way even before accomplishing the goal.  Believe you have done it already.  Send the message to the universe that you are a non smoker, or that you are in shape and healthy, or that you are being paid what you want for the work you do.  Believe this, feel this, focus on this and the law of attraction will make it so.

Use affirmations constantly!  Say that you are a non smoker, or are in shape, or are being paid what you want in your mind and out loud as often as possible each and every day!  Write these things down and post them where you can see them often.  See yourself as the person you want to be.  See it in your minds eye, every detail of it.  See it, feel it, believe it, and the law of attraction will bring it!
